leaving new mexico and entering texas along route 180 equals lot's of very flat farmland.
farm equipment on highway.

i drove from about noon to about midnight to get all the way to austin, texas. on two separate occasions, birds flying across the roadway flew so close that they rode the rapid airstream inches above my van's hood as i was going 70 mph. i also came close to hitting a group of deer. with all the close encounters, i'm surprised i haven't actually hit any large animals yet!
oh yeah, so i was dancing in my seat to a super groovy song on the radio when i noticed a picnic area ahead. at the last second i decided to pull off. i put my van into park, cranked up the volume, jump out and did what i'd only been doing in my head for so much of this trip - some breaking! haha! i felt a bit self-conscious about it, but it was dark so probably no one could see me. and it was great except for a little prickly that stuck to my finger while doing a six-step. man, i miss breakin'! : )
dug this photo of a freeze from the archives : )

good for you babe! you should dance more often. and don't be self-conscious - anyone who might see you would only be extremely envious of your freedom, and you would definitely put a smile on their faces :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Judi - Dance like a madman! A spinal cord tumor took me out of the crazy, madwoman dance competition this time round in life but I still bust as many moves as I can get away with w/o doing too much damage to myself! hahahahaaa!!
