california - extras

i drove about 4000 miles in california alone!  that's about half of all the miles i've traveled so far.  here are some pictures which i'm calling my california extras.

some skunks near the coast.  they wobbled into some cats that where also snooping around.  the cat decided to run without provoking any altercation (smart choice).

road 17 1/2.  i think i'm getting closer to harry potter around here.

i love smashed cars.

LA traffic... it took two hours to traverse a 30 mile stretch of I-10 with an average of 4 thru lanes the whole way, and i started at 2:30 pm.  hmh! lives up to it's reputation.

oh, if only the east coast was not so densely populated, we could also design our intersections with such ease...

when i was in the mojave national preserve i saw a bunch of tracks in the sand from unseen animals.  anyone know what animals they are from?
