last night in death valley

i had inquired about another location to camp in my van for the night in death valley.  the ranger on duty described accurately how to get to it.  it was near the southeast corner of the park toward las vegas, which was the direction i wanted to go the next morning.  perfect.  again, it was 2 miles up an unpaved road.

the sunset was, as usual, stunning.  i love clouds.

the stars were a little better for viewing in this part of the park.  here is the moon about to rise, and orion waving hello.

when i took a closer look at orion, i realized i could also see his head!!
