twain hart california - christmas

i got to spend christmas with jeni's family at a cabin in twain harte, california.  on christmas eve i met up with them and instantly took on the role of "U J" (uncle jeremy).  i spent four nights with them at the cabin and enjoyed sleeping on the living room couch next to the fireplace.   mmmm, i love fireplaces.

besides the obvious activities like opening gifts and eating candy, we played games like pente, what if, candy land, checkers, and chess.   on christmas day we walked around the lake and threw branches and stones onto the thin ice to make cool ping sounds and simulate the movement of tectonic plates.   here's mark posing while tossing a very large rock.

we ate at a local pizza place where the wall tv's with football and basket ball games were the center of attention.

we drove a few miles up the mountain to finds slopes with snow!

we had a pizza-making night at the cabin (no, pizza is not the only thing we ate all weekend, but we did have it twice).
