southeast sights and signs

over the last week i've spent some awesome time with friends in washington, dc and pittsburgh, pa.  i still have to blog about that... hopefully soon.   by the end of today (thursday) i plan to be back in philly!  i haven't been back there since i started this trip in november.  friday marks a half year of travel!! hard to believe it.

most of the people i know live in or near philadelphia and i have a list approaching 200 people that i hope to see in the next four weeks.  yikes!  hopefully i catch up and keep up on my postings...

for now, here's a set of various photos of mostly random things i saw while in the southeast over the last two months...

silver spring, maryland

i drove through dc to go see my friend leah whom i had met when we both lived in philly.

i met up with leah and her housemate sheryl at the giant near their apartment.

i didn't know leah very well in philly, but we did see each other at church a lot and had some of the same friends.  it was really great hanging out for the evening and on saturday when she didn't have to work.   now i wish we had spent more time together in philly!   oh well, there are only so many people one can get to know when there is a large community of people like we had.   it was quite a blessing to get to know her a little better.  i had fun staying with leah and sheryl!   thanks you guys!!

colonial williamsburg

on a beautiful sunny day i got to roam through the streets of colonial williamsburg.  i had never been there before.  i did my own free tour while on my bike!  since i didn't bye a ticket, i couldn't go inside anywhere.  someday maybe i could do that with someone else.  but it was a pleasant and free exploration that was well satisfying for the day.  here are some pictures...

i also rode around the campus of william and mary

then after all that riding i got a flat on my bike!  at least it was at the end of my exploring.  it was a lovely day. : )
