when i got back to delaware/philly in late july, i continued contemplating what the coming season would hold. while reconnecting with my philly friends, i became aware of a service project / foreign missions opportunity called the World Race through Adventures In Missions (AIM) which resonated with me a LOT. so i went through the whole application process... and was ACCEPTED! in short, the trip would take me with a team to 11 countries around the world for 11 months of next year, serving many people in many ways! i had two weeks to think/pray it over and then got back to AIM with my final decision.
however, at the same time there was ANOTHER awesome potential arrangement which would position me for another service-focused use of my time and energy - but this one would start in philadelphia and continue to places ToBeDetermined. in short, my heart was stirred for the first time toward a friend Heather who I'd known in Philly for almost 5 years and i couldn't help but seriously consider the idea of dating her with the intention of future marriage. so, i decided to ask her out...
i was SO HAPPY to discover that our attraction toward each other was mutual. : ) hence, heather and i started dating. it's been a wild and wonderful ride as we've been getting to know each other this fall. : )
meanwhile, i've moved to philadelphia and have been doing various odd jobs while trying to stay afloat financially. i'm hoping to find a few steady part time jobs soon.
my van is still getting me around, but it cannot pass inspection here in pennsylvania without some very major repairs scheduled for next week. hoping for many more miles from the ol' faithful van.
i'm looking forward to what this winter season will bring!
