las vegas nv - round two

i found out my friend maureen (mo) was flying into las vegas for new years day.  as it turns out, i had already planned to be in the area at that time.  happily, i got to meet her whole family as they were gathered at her sisters shauna's house.  this timely visit meant i didn't have to bring in the new year alone.  mo and i hung out with her sister and brother and their significant others for the evening.

one of their friends has an outdoor hot tub, so as one year ended and another began we were soaking in warmth under the blue moon, mars, and jupiter.   it didn't mater that we didn't see any spectacular fireworks.  we just enjoyed each other's company and the hot water.   the bonus for the evening was the huge smiley faces that some pilot decided to draw in the sky over the city with his plane.  that was seriously awesome. : )

the rest of the time we played wii, kept the four kids and two dogs entertained along with ourselves, and made the best of the general chaos.  we also enjoyed shauna's talent in the kitchen for whipping up deliciousness.  there's a little gap in picture taking because i let my battery die...  but i got a shot of one of the dogs - mattie (i think).

i'm really glad i had the chance to see mo and catch up on some of the philly news too.  i miss you philly friends!
