we spent an afternoon hiking 12 miles along the highline trail. it runs below the ridge on the right side of this photo.
the path had a steep drop off in a few places. that "c" shaped rock cut is the trail.
if you fell from the next view, you'd skid down with the rocks, slide down the packed snow, bounce off the roadway or a motorcycle and continue gaining speed as you roll down the steep meadow for thousands of feet. alternately if you watch your steps you'll only get to imagine all of that.
half way through i could feel some blisters on my toes. they weren't severe but they sure begged my attention. the beautiful views helped to distract me!
the wild flowers were colorfully plenteous!

get some stuff called "mole skin" in the foot dept of a pharmacy to cover blisters on your feet when hiking. Only costs a couple $ and keeps your blisters from hurting!!! :-) I'd mail you some, but I don't know where you are! lol.
ReplyDeletei figure i better let my feet toughen up. in case i decide that having shoes to hike is overkill. : ) i'm losing and missing my summer feet being so far north!
