of all the national parks i'd been to, yellowstone ranked near the top when it came to various things to look at. it was such a large park and had very unique attractions, mainly due to the multitude of springs. i spent about two days driving the main routes and didn't even see it all.
lots of forest is still recovering from the 1988 fire.
pretty lakes, small and big.
continental divide. i wondered which ocean i would fall toward. i considered taking a leak on the divide - the only place where it could drain toward both sides of the continent. silly, i know... but so is standing on my head. : )
old faithful
yes, it's still faithful!
mammoth hot springs.
other phosphorous spring formations
lot's of wildlife
bear and grizzly sightings caused major roadway backups. rumors had it they had to put a mother bear down that day. only a month before i was in the park a man had been killed by a grizzly.
pretty views
deep gorges.
rivers in valleys
various waterfalls
so much to see. totally would be worth revisiting some day.
