i spent a day doing some errands as final prep for my trip to and through alaska and back... most of which i did in and around bellevue
i got hot water at mcdonald's to make an oatmeal breakfast. i swung by the post office to check for any mail and pick up a package my mom sent me! i went to a bank to withdraw some cash and hopefully have enough on hand to satisfy the canadian border patrol if they ask again. i tried calling a few people that i'd been long overdue to catch up with. i did some blogging using the internet at a barnes & noble and more research and planning for alaska and hawaii.
and most importantly, i got four brand new tires from les schwab.
and, as several sources recommended for my planned trip up to the arctic ocean, i also made two full size spares out of new wheels and two of my old tires. to start i just had them stashed inside with the rest of my life's belongings. they took up some space, but less space than i imagined.
besides the fact that the dalton highway to the arctic ocean is mostly just gravel, i was anticipating about 10,000 miles round trip to alaska. so was confident it was a good choice to put some money into good tires. yay, brand new tires!
it was a very successful day.
