the first thing i did when i got to the seattle area was meet up with my friend emily at a church she has been checking out. it's called church of the apostles and was pretty nice. after the service, emily had to leave to get to a nursing shift but i hung around at the post-service barbeque at the church. i met a few people who gave me really great ideas of things that i could check out while in the city. before i left, matt and juliet offered to let me follow them across town to an ice cream place called blue bird. on the way we passed a well known troll... a blurry fella he was.
and a coolly graffitied building
when we got to our destination we didn't even get inside for ice cream. instead we just hung outside of the store and enjoyed chatting for a long while - just as satisfying. : ) they were very fun to meet!
while we were talking, i couldn't help but notice that a lot of people walking by had dogs - just like in philly. also there were a lot of bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles. in fact, this single photo has one of each!
matt and juliet invited me and emily over for a barbeque on their apartment roof deck the next night! their view of the city and the sunset was great!
it was amazing to experience their generosity in reaching out to me even though i was just a stranger crossing their path. : )
