i crossed a bridge into canada. canada!! campobello is a canadian island that is only accessible by ferry or a bridge from maine.
canada became the third country i'd been in since i started my trip. my walk from california into tijuana mexico in december had previously marked country number two. by the way, my entrance into maine made for trip-state number 38! entering new brunswick canada was also my fourth time zone for the trip.
i had a few hours left to explore the island before sunset. i checked out the roosevelt cottage...
i drove around and hung out at the head harbor lighthouse. the sunset was beautiful, the whales were out, and i was ready for some good sleep after a very fun adventurous day.

Not to be nit-picky, but just so you can know, I think you reached your fifth time zone- there's pacific (Washington, Oregon, CA, etc), mountain (rocky area for example), central (midwest like indiana), eastern (home!) so there were four already. If you're in a different one, that would make 5.

yup, that was a slip up on my part. it's partly fun and partly annoying crossing time zones each month! : )
