acadia national park, maine

with sleep not interrupted by cops, and the foggy morning promising a sunny day, i was ready to go see me some beauty!  i drove through a ton of construction and found myself at bar harbor on the atlantic coast.

i've been to acadia national park a couple times, but it's so worth multiple visits.  plus it puts to use my national parks pass!  i spent the whole day there, partly on the beach - yes, sand beaches are rare in maine, but there is one in the park.  it's called "sand beach".  : )

cadillac mountain in the park claims the highest point (1,500 ft elevation) on the eastern coastline.

for the fifth night in a row i stayed at a walmart.  that night was in ellsworth maine.   i cosied up next to other sleepers...  man, there are so many different versions of personal travel sleeping accommodations!  for instance, the ones near me that night... there's the kind that you attach to the bed of your pickup.

or there's the classic vw.  there's the conversion van.  and the pull your bed behind your car option.

and on the other side of me some guy just laid down across the front seats of his car to sleep.  there's a version for everyone.  what version fits you?

  2. LOL Joel! Jer I love the 3rd pic. can you email it to me sometime? It is wall worth! I would copy it from your blog, but it is reduced in quality from the original. If you have the time! We will have to visit New England sometime. I have never been up there! maybe you should be a US travel agent and can recommend the best beaches to people! lol! Love ya!
