chattanooga, tennessee

next i drove to chattanooga, tennessee.   on my way i passed these ice falls.  so cool.  these remind me of the schuylkill expressway and lincoln drive during philly winters.

i got to chattanooga to catch the north shore fellowship church service where i met up with my friend joel.  joel is a great guy.  i know him from my teenage years through a broader circle of friends.  we share an interest in a variety of things including engineering and science-type topics.

after the church service we grabbed lunch at mojo burrito and brought it to his appartment.  he got a burrito and i got a delicious quesadilla.

it's so good to catch up with friends who i haven't seen in a long time.  joel and i were able to express to each other some of the ways god has been working in us, leading us and comforting us through the circumstances of life.   i'm very thankful for our time of fellowship and prayer.  it was short, but sweet.

joel is gearing up to raise the funding he will need to join a missions team in ukraine.  he has a heart to bless the people there through music, dialogue and friendship.

joel was going to make some borsch for the first time while i was there, but postponed the effort in order to maximize the quality of our discussions.  at least he was able to get the beats started.   i hope the borsch turned out well!
