random things for post #300

during the three weeks i spent in canada in june, these are some of the things i observed.

there were a number of younger aged girls working as gas station attendants.  it struck me as unfamiliar.  then at a gas station in nova scotia, a ten year old girl pumped my gas and did my credit card transaction!  her mother was overseeing it...  but still - i don't think i'd ever see that in the states.

some favorite license plates: "tardy"  "lol"

i liked this car sticker

bathroom door knobs have a locking mechanism which is activated by simply pushing the knob toward the door.

i noticed the "trunk road" label to designate certain roads.

protected traffic intersection movements were indicated with green lights or green arrows that blinked.

  1. Have you looked back at a map of the US and pin pointed all the stops on this journey? I'm tempted to put a marker on a Google Map for every stop or every blog post on your site to see it visually. Its only 300 points!

  2. yeah that would be fun. in my very first post i created a link to a map but it didn't end up being easy enough to implement along the trip. maybe i'll do it after the trip if i slow down enough.
