it was the third winter in a row that we'd gathered in warm florida to get time away from our daily grind to spend that special time together. we had about five days together. some of it was actually down time, but a lot of it was socially active either getting to know our hosts or spending time with our relatives who we don't get to see very often.
our hosts were susan and chris. they were wonderful people and offered us more space in their home than we even needed. we had a decent number of opportunities to hang out with them and chat about life. one evening we made pizza in their kitchen.
here we're using a glass of beer as a home-made kaleidoscope.

we played cat's cradle with mardi gras beads.
speaking of cats, there were two cats in the house too. "bongo" was friendly and slightly obnoxious.
"dusty" was very skittish, but otherwise graceful. he liked to drink the pool water. hmh.
we were so blessed to have a place to stay and basically used it as our vacation headquarters!
